Firefighting Wholetime
Wholetime firefighters are permanently employed by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and it is their main, or their only job. In some cases, a wholetime firefighter may be able to carry out secondary employment on their days off, but prior permission must be obtained from the Chief Fire Officer and there are conditions to the amount and type of secondary employment you can do.
Firefighting isn't for everyone and the chances of you getting through the tough recruitment process are slim, unless you are 100% committed.
As a firefighter, it is possible that through your career (which can be 30 years or more) you will see some distressing things and be involved with some dangerous situations.
